NZ Entrepreneur Visa

Entrepreneur Residence Visa

To gain New Zealand residency from an entrepreneur work visa you need to have carried out the set process and be granted an entrepreneur work visa.  From there if you have successfully managed and operated your New Zealand business for 2 years, you may become eligible to apply for residency under this visa category.

New Zealand has the potential for many business development opportunities, therefore an Entrepreneur Work visa would be the best suit for someone looking to grab such opportunities.  The first step in this process is to complete an Expression of Interest application, in which you need to gain 120 points.  You will also be required that you make a minimum capital investment of NZD$100,000 for your proposed business.  Once your Expression of Interest has been selected from the pool of applications, you will then be invited to lodge an application for an Entrepreneur Work visa.

The length of stay for this visa is a total of 3 years, this entails a 12 month period which is the initial start-up stage where you are required to propose and establish your business.  From there it is another 24 months where you need to operate your business and make it a success.

Alongside this you need to ensure that your business complies with New Zealand employment and immigration law, show that the same or a greater amount of capital has been invested into the business as outlined in the business plan.

Most importantly you must be able to show that your business has a significant benefit for New Zealand.
