Green List: Straight to Residence Visa
If you currently work in or have a job offer to work in one of the occupations from Tier 1 Green List, you may be eligible to apply for Green List Straight to Residence Visa. This is a streamlined process which aims to incentivize migrant workers and address worker shortage in highly skilled or hard to fill and high national importance roles in New Zealand.
To be eligbile your employment or offer of employment should be with an accredited employer (and their accreditation is not suspended) at the time the residence application is either made or decided.
The Applicant is required to have a genuine, permanent, full-time employment (minimum 30 hours per week), or a fixed-term employment of at least 12 months when applying for the Straight to Residence Visa.
For roles that do not require occupational registration an immigration officer may undertake an ANZSCO susbstantial match assesment to determine whether employment is for a role on the Green List.
The applicant must
- be 55 years of age or under
- meet health and character requirements for residence
- meet the acceptable minimum standard of English
- meet the requirement set out in the Green List for their role
